A reliable test should use the same product and finish that will be used in production.

  1. Clean the surface using the approved procedure.
  2. Apply primer, flame treatment or plasma treatment if required.

  5. Perform an adhesion test.
  6. Check resistance to scratching, handling and the product’s intended environment.

Cosmetic and beverage containers may also encounter water, oils, alcohol, condensation or cleaning chemicals. These conditions should be included in the test when relevant.

Compare Production Speed Using a Real Job

Cylindrical printer speed depends on more than the number stated on the specification sheet.

Important variables include:

  • Product diameter
  • Printed length
  • Percentage of surface coverage
  • Print resolution
  • Number of white layers
  • Varnish
  • Stepping or helix print mode
  • Loading and unloading time
  • Fixture changeover time
