A wide-format UV flatbed printer site is ready only when the selected configuration can be delivered, positioned, powered, ventilated, connected, loaded, serviced and commissioned in the actual room. Check floor levelness and nearby vibration sources using the selected model’s instructions. Mark the machine position, service zones, operator controls, access panels and emergency routes on the floor plan.
Then trace rigid sheets through receiving, storage, conditioning, preparation, printing, inspection, finishing, packing and rejection. Full-size sheets need safe turning and staging space on both sides of the workflow. Separate clean stock from printed and rejected material. Avoid a layout that technically fits the printer but forces operators to carry large sheets across cables, chemical storage or blocked service areas.

Ventilation and local exhaust requirements depend on the equipment, inks, cleaners, primers, operating volume and applicable workplace rules. Review current safety data sheets and have the responsible safety or industrial-hygiene professional determine the required controls. Prepare compatible storage, spill response, waste handling and personal protective equipment before chemicals arrive. This checklist does not replace a site-specific safety assessment.
Confirm the supported workstation and RIP requirements for the purchased configuration. Make sure the installation team has authorized access to software installation, drivers, licenses, network settings and file locations. Define how artwork, profiles, recipes, backups and job records will be controlled after training.
Commissioning should use a real production file and representative substrate, not a convenient generic test alone. Have the approved artwork revision, target print mode, fixture or load plan, color reference and acceptance criteria available. Name the operator who will be trained and the person authorized to accept the result.
