Frequently asked Question

If you have any further inquiries, please don't hesitate to contact our sales team.

What types of materials can the Andresjet printer print on?

This is one of the best features of our technology! The Andresjet UV flatbed printer is incredibly versatile and can print directly onto a wide range of rigid and flexible materials, including:

  • PVC Board, ABS Board, Foam Board and Sintra
  • Acrylic and Plexiglass
  • Wood, MDF, and Plywood
  • Glass and Ceramic Tiles
  • Metals (like aluminum, brass, and steel)
  • Leather and Faux Leather
  • Phone Cases, Pens, and other promotional items

For non-porous materials like glass and metal, we recommend using a special primer before printing to ensure the best possible adhesion. We can provide you with the correct primer and demonstrate the simple application process.

What is the printing cost per square meter/foot?

This is a crucial question for calculating your return on investment. The cost varies depending on color saturation and print resolution, but we can give you a very reliable estimate.

On average, the ink cost for a full-color print is approximately $0.80 - $1.20 per square meter (/$0.07 - $0.11 per square foot).

To give you a precise calculation for your specific products, our team at Andresjet can run a test print of your file through our software, which will calculate the exact ink consumption and cost.

How durable is the print? Is it scratch-proof and waterproof?

The UV-cured ink used in our Andresjet printers is inherently durable. Once cured by the built-in UV LED lamps, the ink forms a solid, water-resistant layer on the material's surface.

· Waterproof: Yes, the prints are waterproof and suitable for most indoor and outdoor applications.

· Scratch Resistance: The prints have good resistance to general handling and scuffs. For high-wear surfaces or extreme conditions, a topcoat or lamination can be applied for maximum durability. We can test the adhesion on your specific material so you can see the results for yourself.

· Outdoor Lifespan: For outdoor signage, our high-quality UV inks are rated to last for 3-5 years without significant fading, depending on the level of sun exposure.

Can this machine print with 3D texture (embossing) and a glossy finish?

Absolutely! This is a key advantage of Andresjet UV technology.

· 3D Embossed Effect: We achieve this by printing multiple layers of white ink or color ink, creating a raised, tactile effect that you can feel. You can control the height of the emboss directly in the software.

· Varnish (Glossy Finish): Our printers are equipped with a channel for clear varnish. You can apply it to the entire surface for a high-gloss look or use it selectively (spot varnish) to make specific parts of your design.

We have many stunning samples to show you what’s possible!

What is the warranty policy, and what does it cover?

Andresjet stands behind the quality of our machines. We offer a comprehensive 2-year warranty on the entire printer. This covers all non-consumable mechanical and electrical parts, including motors, motherboards, drivers, and sensors.

Please note that consumable parts, which are subject to wear and tear from normal use, are not covered under the warranty. This includes ink, ink tubes, filters, and—most importantly—the printheads. We provide thorough training on daily maintenance to help you maximize the life of these essential components.

If my machine has a problem, what kind of after-sales support do you offer?

Excellent and reliable support is a cornerstone of the Andresjet promise. Our support process is designed to get you back up and running as quickly as possible:

1. Remote Support: Most issues (over 80%) can be solved quickly via remote support. Our technical team is available during business hours from Monday to Saturday and can guide you through video calls (WhatsApp, Zoom, etc.) and remote desktop software.

2. On-site Service: If the issue cannot be resolved remotely, we will dispatch a certified technician to your location. Our target response time for dispatching a technician is within 48 hours. We have technicians based in Thailand, India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, South Europe and USA.

Do I have to use Andresjet's ink? What is the cost and lifespan of the printheads?

This is an important question about long-term operational costs.

· Ink: We highly recommend using only official Andresjet-certified ink. Our inks are specifically formulated to work with our machines' ink systems and color profiles. Using third-party inks can cause printhead clogging, damage the ink system, and will void your warranty.

· Printheads: The printheads are the most critical and expensive consumable part. With proper use and daily maintenance, a printhead has a typical lifespan of 1-3 years. The current market price for a replacement printhead is approximately $1,900, but this can fluctuate. We will train your team on the essential maintenance procedures to ensure you get the longest possible life from your investment.
